Sunday evenings are a time for connection, encouragement, and worship in a format we call Koinonia—a Greek word meaning "fellowship," drawn from Acts 2:42 and appearing 20 times in the New Testament. This gathering is designed to embody a gospel-centered community where everyone participates, not just spectates.
What to Expect at Koinonia
- Congregational Singing: Experience the joy of worship through song! We blend cherished hymns with newer songs, preparing our hearts and voices for Sunday morning worship as we grow in unity and praise.
- Personal Testimonies: Be encouraged by stories of God’s work in the lives of our members. Testimonies often highlight God’s attributes or share gospel outreach opportunities. Together, we pray for those being evangelized and for those sharing the gospel, fueling a passion for evangelism in our church.
- Corporate Prayer: Unite in purposeful prayer as one body. Each week, we focus on key areas:
- God’s Greatness: Reflecting on His glorious attributes.
- God’s People: Praying for unity, holiness, and growth.
- Government: Lifting up leaders at all levels.
- The Great Commission: Seeking God’s blessing on discipleship, evangelism, and missions.
- Scriptural Message: Receive encouragement from a brief, focused message (10–15 minutes) rooted in God’s Word. This time also serves as a training ground for men in the church to grow in teaching, following the biblical model of “training faithful men who will be able to teach others also” (2 Timothy 2:2).
A Welcoming Space and Schedule
We meet in our fellowship hall, a space perfectly suited to foster connection and togetherness. The room accommodates everyone while maintaining a sense of unity, helping us gather as one body.
Our 60-minute format, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., is designed with everyone in mind:
- Accessible for All: Elderly members can attend without worrying about driving late at night.
- Family-Friendly: Parents can join without keeping little ones up past their bedtime. And a great time to learn to teach them to sit in church!
- Flexible Evening: Members still have time afterward to relax and prepare for the week ahead.
Whether you’re a long-time member or visiting for the first time, Koinonia is an opportunity to grow in faith, connect with others, and experience God’s presence in a fresh way. We’d love for you to join us this Sunday evening!
